ComParrot Puzzles have been a key component on the Calgary Herald puzzle page for almost two decades. The feature provides a different type of challenge for readers, in that it presents an image-based puzzle rather than a word or number brainteaser. The artwork of the ComParrot puzzle also adds visual interest to the page. It has become a favorite feature for many readers over the years.

I have used your “spot the differences” puzzles in my classroom. I work with students who have learning disabilities and these puzzles are great for their oral language skills.

The popularity of ComParrot Puzzles has proven itself with my publication for many years. Often readers will tell me they turn to the feature first to test their skill and speed in finding the differences. The arrival of the pandemic has probably made it more precious than before. People are scanning the pages from edge to edge and features like ComParrot Puzzles are very much in demand. I would highly recommend the puzzle as a regular weekly feature.

At our newspaper, we have to wait while our proofers finish the puzzle before getting the proof pages back for the press. They haven’t been able to do a “12 spot” yet!

Just wanted to let you know that my 6 year old grandson (he’s done them with me since he was 5) loves doing the Comparrot puzzles with me from the Calgary Herald.  He is much better than I am. His young eyes and quick brain net him lots of differences.  He is the kind of kid that likes math so his love of puzzles is probably related, anyway just keep them coming.

I get phone calls from readers when I don’t run the ComParrot puzzle in my newspaper.

Readers of our community newspaper have been enjoying the Comparrot puzzles for quite a few years now. I have been told by subscribers from a very wide age span, children to grandparents, how they go straight to the puzzle first thing! One mother told me she saves a few up for her child for a time when a distraction might be needed, like waiting in the car or for an appointment.

These puzzles are highly popular with readers who look for them each week in our print edition. We have had readers reach out and thank us for including ComParrot in our newspaper. We appreciate for the way they get readers actively engaged and spending more time with our newspaper.
